CHOOSING YOUR EV & COST SAVINGS

FOR INDIVIDUALS;
Our partnership with Nissan Kenya avails you a wide range of vehicles to choose from.

Ev’s are available in three categories;

HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLES (HEVS)

Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) combine the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors and can be configured to meet different objectives such as improved fuel economy, increased power, or additional auxiliary power for electronic devices and power tools

PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLES (PHEVS)

These Plug-in hybrids use a petrol or diesel engine alongside the electric motor, which can then take you many hundreds of miles. They have the ability to run on electric-only at lower speeds or for local journeys; or a combination of both.

100% ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EVS)

These vehicles need to be charged. Their high performance batteries are used to provide power to an electric motor, which in-turn drives the wheels. Some of the new breed of 100% electric cars can drive over 200 miles on a single charge, and this is increasing all the time.

FUEL CONSUMPTION: A COMPARISON

We did a research focused on two car technologies; a Nissan Advan running on petrol and Nissan Leaf running on an electrically powered motor. When comparing the two as shown in the chart, the results indicate that the EV is cheaper to run and maintain. The cost of fuel for the petrol engine car is more than twice that of the EV. Furthermore, EVs have close to zero maintenance costs, they offer better acceleration and handling, and feature the latest car technologies as revealed from our study. These factors make an EV the ideal car to drive within Nairobi. Plug-in hybrids efficiently combine an electric motor with a petrol or diesel engine, meaning they too are considerably cheaper to run.
